Nerf Gun War: new event, fun experience

5 min read

Our school held a creative event and got a lot of great responses from students, which is the Nerf Gun War. The Nerf Gun War wasn’t just a simple game that you may think young kids would play. In this battlefield, you have to learn teamwork, and fight together until the very end of the game. Also, we had the Royal Battlefield where players must fight for themselves. It was a game with encouragement and ploy, everyone enjoyed the game really much!

Our WAve Journalism Club invited those 3 referees, Eric, Zachary, and Christy and the team that had the only 3 girls for the interview, and let’s see what their responses to this innovative and exciting game!

Referees

What was it like referring to the nerf gun war ?

Eric: It was fun.

Zachary: It’s a bit insane that so many people were arguing.

Christy: It was pretty hard to refer to a game like that, things were all blocked and you had to go to the top and to see how everyone was doing. It was pretty hard to refer to.

If you would like to do it again, what would be the best reason for you to do that?

Eric: More hours (laughing), more hours.

Zachary: It was all about, you know, experience. Sure, I’ll do that again.

Christy: It was fun.

Tell us something that surprised you about the nerf gun war ?

Christy: The whole thing itself, like I was pretty surprised that there were no teachers.

Eric, Zachary: Like there actually were two teachers there supervising us.

While reffing did you wish you were playing ?

Eric: No, I didn’t wish, no too much confusion stuff happened.

Christy: Not really.

Zachary: I used to own a nerf gun in my younger days, but I think nerf guns are more childish because like it’s also something wrong happened between the nerf guns ,but it’s a true drawback, I’ll say it’s more fun.

Christy: Yeah, I'm more of a video game person rather than an actual gamer.

How did you deal with arguments and confusions during the event?

Eric: Probably rock paper scissors.

Zachary: Yeah we do a rematch, and I’ll pay extra attention to them, you know those trouble makers, so that they can’t cheat again.Christy: I tried to decide who is the winner and I was doing a rematch too, and the rematch was fair.

The only girl's team

What was it like making it to the semi finals with no losses as girls?

Elmira: I felt really good. Considering the fact that it was all guys and I was really scared and they looked really prepared. And considering the fact that I had a small gun, it was well for me.

What experience would be helpful before you played a nerf gun war?

Elmira:I've never had a nerf gun war before, I know what it is but like I've never done it before. Maybe the experience about how to hide. I really do not know as a girl, because like most of the time, as girls we just play with dolls and stuff like that. But it was fun that I actually got to run and it was energetic.

Before playing, did you ever think you'd make it that far, especially with no losses?

Elmira:No, number one cause my gun was small. I had to put one bullet in one shot. That's how small it was. Number two,I do not run, I don't like running. Number three, I thought the guys were gonna kill me because it was just three girls against so many guys. In my head. I'm just thinking those guys are really rough. It was breathtaking for me.

Would you do it again for any reason?

Elmira:Yes, it was fun, it was something new. I love the energy of this. I want to know more about some boys' games.

Enjoy the rest of your week and wish to see you next time!
